Adalaj Stepwell (Adalaj ni Vav)

Adalaj Stepwell (Adalaj ni Vav)

This breathtaking five-story deep architectural marvel was built in 1498 and serves as a spectacular example of Indo-Islamic fusion architecture. The stepwell features intricate stone carvings of floral and geometric patterns, and its unique design allows the temperature at the bottom to remain about five degrees cooler than the surface, providing a historic refuge from the Gujarat heat.
