Built in 1573, this mosque is globally acclaimed for its exquisite stone lattice work (Jali), which represents the pinnacle of Indo-Saracenic craftsmanship. Its most famous window, the “Tree of Life,” features incredibly delicate carvings of interweaving branches and is so iconic that it serves as the unofficial symbol of the city of Ahmedabad.
